I will be showing some new pieces at Drink Philly’s First Friday on July, 1st. So in honor of it being Independence Day Weekend, I will having my drunken founding fathers and these new pieces below.
First up is Independence Hall.
And next is Boat House Row. I love Philly and its architecture.
This is how the series looks when completed:
And a new addition to my drunken Founding Fathers: Paul Revere!
Not alot of people know about how Paul Revere’s ride really went. The historian Charles Taussig says that Revere was on his way to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock about the British soldiers arriving on the shore, but he managed to stop for a drink and by the time he got back on his horse, was very very drunk. He was stopped by Red Coats for drunken disorderly conduct. What really awoke Adams and Hancock was Revere’s drunken disruption, not the calls of “The British are Coming”.
And lastly, Thomas Jefferson, who was a wine fanatic.
“Good wine is a necessity of life for me. I double the doctor’s recommendation of a glass and a half of wine each day and even treble it with a friend.”
~ Thomas Jefferson

I love your watercolors.
Also, Paul Revere, true American hero.
